VIDEO PROGRESS REPORT
Last updated 12/5/11
Bed frame hinged up against the back wall.
I had originally conceived a plan to raise the bed up against the ceiling with the side cabinetry attached to it by cables and pulleys so the weight of the cabinets would balance out the weight of the bed and make it easy to raise and lower. While I still really like that idea and want to apply it to something some day, I ended up going with this plan because I'm hoping it will serve the function of the recording studio better.
Not only will I have more space for shelving and storage along the side walls but the bed will block more outside noise from coming through the back windows and I'm also hoping I can treat the bottom of the bed with wood and acoustic foam to create a bass trap when the bed is up and I'm using this space as a studio. Translation...I think the recording studio will sound better this way.
